This unit serves as the engine for remote coexistence "tele-session," which transmits 4K video in an uncompressed, zero-latency, bidirectional manner via optical transmission. It converts the HDMI output signal from a 4K video camera into a continuous optical signal for uncompressed transmission over fiber optics, and converts a similar optical signal received from the other party's 4K video camera back into HDMI output, allowing for the output of 4K/60p ultra-high-definition video (plus audio) to a 4K monitor with zero latency. The system connects two distant locations via fiber optics, with a 4K video camera, a 4K display, and a set-top box installed at each location. This unit converts the HDMI electrical interface signal, which is suitable for general-purpose devices, into serial optical signals at wavelengths of 1310 nm/1550 nm for long-distance transmission, and can also convert received optical signals back into HDMI. The signals propagate through the fiber optics at the speed of light in quartz glass (approximately 20 km in 1 millisecond) and are transmitted continuously and uncompressed, rather than in packets with different paths, enabling the sharing of 4K video in real-time with zero latency at both locations.
